Incentives for those investing in the tourism sector: CM

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that the tourism department should be a resource that not only generates income for the state but also provides employment opportunities. The CM held a review meeting at the Command Control Center regarding the tourism department. He suggested that incentives should be provided for those investing in the tourism sector in semi-urban and rural areas. The CM recommended that boat houses should be made available in Nagarjuna Sagar backwaters and that Telangana should be made a destination for destination weddings.

Revanth Reddy directed officials to focus on areas such as temples and wildlife sanctuaries, which hold special significance in tourism. He instructed that facilities should be improved and proper publicity should be given for every tourist destination, including temples like Bhadrachalam, Saleshwaram, Ramappa, Mallela Theertham, Bogatha Waterfalls, Buddhist stupas, and Jain temples. The CM also inquired about the progress of the Bhongir Fort Ropeway project. Officials informed him that land acquisition is complete and tenders will be called soon. The CM instructed that tenders for the Bhongir Fort Ropeway should be invited promptly and necessary measures should be taken to preserve the historical structures there.

The CM emphasized that the final shape of the tourism policy should be given by coordinating with the Forest, IT, Electricity, TSIIC, Medical, and Sports departments. He suggested that the policies of one department should not hinder the policies of another. The CM stressed the importance of giving prominence to adventure sports in the tourism department. He also instructed that measures should be taken to ensure that foreign nationals coming for medical purposes can easily enter as tourists without facing any difficulties.
